About the song “Cocaine and Chicken Fricassée” –
My previous band, Papa Grows Funk, played on Monday nights for 13 years. Over the course of those years, I saw all kinds of crazy things.
I saw so much that that type of craziness becomes the norm. So, when something REALLY crazy happens you can’t believe it, you have to write a song about it.
“Cocaine and Chicken Fricassee” is a composite picture of the good, the bad and the ugly of playing 13 years of Monday nights.
Hey thanks for srnding the tour info. I used to watch play your PGF band in St. Louis at Oyester Bar. I also was there when you guys played outside and started playing People Get Ready and then the train came down the track. What a moment!. Please do a reunion tour and grace us with a show in STL.
I remember that Big Muddy Festival! Fun times. I’ll be in St. Louis on August 11th at The Pageant where I’ll be a guest of Little Feat. That should be a blast. I’ll be back at the Oyster Bar hopefully before it gets cold. thanks for the message and the support.
